Raul Seixas; o início, o fim e o meio (Raul Seixas: The beginning, the end and the middle) tells the story of the outrageous Brazilian rock star Raul, whose dabbling with the ocult and occasional English lyrics made him a controversial, unforgettable figure. This documentary examines his life, which included a spell being exiled in the US where he met John Lennon and Jerry Lee Lewis, and three marriages (all of which produced offspring). Along with legions of journalists and band colleagues of Raul's during his '60s and '70s heyday, Carvalho tracks down mystic author Paulo Coelho, a close friend of Seixas' who was introduced to drugs for the first time by the rocker, for a revealing interview about their friendship. First shown at the Rio film festival to enthusiastic audiences, Raul... offers a great opportunity to learn more about one of the great unique characters in Brazilian music.
