Extended live session for the cult carioca rockers
Los Hermanos' eponymous 1999 debut album may have been their most popular, but it set an awkward tone for the rest of their career with the massively successful single Anna Júlia proving something of a poisoned chalice. Jettisoning some of their rockier leanings in favour of more quintessentially Brazilian rhythms including samba and even bossa, they released three more albums before finally splitting amicably in 2007, sporadically reforming for live shows until the announcement of the 2012 latest tour. Taking in 23 dates and 11 cities, it is their hometown which sold out so quickly that new dates had to be added, making the final few nights at Lapa's cavernous Fundição Progresso something of an essential visit for fans and anyone intersted in the progression of Brazilian rock.
