New York hipsters ready to take Lapa by storm
With The Strokes permanently sidelined and under a veritable tempest of break-up speculation, the time is nigh for another band of New York upstarts to step into the leather-jacketed void that Julian Casablancas has left. Enter, then, The Virgins. The band's modern new-wave sound has found a happy home in Rio, and the Loud crew bring them to the city's underground indie venue of choice, Odisseia, with an army of DJs to keep the party spirit alive long after their illustrious guests have left the stage.
