Channelling the same ‘big’ sound of the likes as Coldplay and Keane, Oasis' Liam Gallagher might not like Snow Patrol, but his brother, Noel, has chosen to tour the US with them. Read into that what you will. The bottom line is this Scottish/Irish five piece sold over 3 million copies (in the UK alone) of their debut major label album in 2003, before the smash hit single ‘Chasing Cars’ from second album Eyes Open sent them into the rock stratosphere. In the spotlight-avoiding Gary Lightbody they may not have Coldplay’s media-hungry frontman, but they certainly have the penmanship.
