Throughout 2012 the Orquestra Imperial registers ten years of gafiera-blazing concerts and superstar line-ups with a series of celebratory concerts, this time featuring a hatful of fresh tracks from new album Fazendo as Pazes com Swing. Starting life as a traditional gafiera (Brazilian ball) band playing ballroom classics with a modern twist, the Orquestra became something of a revelation on the carioca musical map, joined on stage for impromptu collaborations by an array of stars including Ed Motta, Seu Jorge and even The Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde. Leaving their mark on Portugal, Britain, America and beyond (they have also closed Chicago's World Music Festival and played the Roskilde Festival in Denmark), today's show offers fans a chance to get a little closer to the action at the intimate Tom Jobim venue.
