Quinta da Boa Vista
After a successful stint in London as part of the UK-Brazil Olympic Games cultural exchange, Rio's annual journey into the roots of music, Back2Black, returns to the criminally underused Leopoldina Station in Santo Cristo. The festival line up always produces some nice surprises (even if we are still sore that Prince pulled out in 2011 at the last minute), and 2012 is no different thanks to an appearance from the first lady of rap, Missy Elliot. She'll be joined by Lauryn Hill and Santigold as the main international acts, whilst Gal Costa, Sany Pitbull and Emicida provide just a fraction of the homegrown talent on display across the three days.
