Rio's lord of samba-pop, Seu Jorge, returns to the Rio stage tonight for a run through of classics from his fifteen-year career as well as the more recent, Grammy-nominated album Músicas Para Churrasco Vol.1. Hailing from Belford Roxo in the Baixada Fluminense, Jorge's journey from there to the London Olympic stage for the handing over of the Games flag to Rio has been punctuated by cult movie appearances (including City of God and A Life Aquatic) and smash hit singles, not least the current radio-staple 'A doida'. Always a charming and absorbing live presence, Barra's enormous Music venue should pack out even on a Tuesday eveing, so expect mass singalongs and a truly varied crowd appreciating every second of the thumping funk and delicate ballads.
