The 2012 Mostra Livre das Artes (MoLA) takes over Circo Voador for a four-day feast of audiovisual joy occupying every spare inch of space in Lapa's beautiful indoor/outdoor Circo Voador. As well as two large screens (one indoor, one out) hosted by the likes of Cachaça Cinema Club and showing the cream of the city's indie film-making talent, everything from dance companies to circus troupes and plays will occupy the tent from early evening before the bands take centre stage.
Among the musical highlights taking things through to the early morning are the lively Tupiniquim Jazz Orquestra and ever funky party people Vinil é Arte (31/10). The seven-strong strut of Feijão Coletivo and São Paulo's heavy Tigre Dente de Sabre get things going on the Thursday, and Mall Magalhaes ups the sweet soul music on Friday night. The instrumental wizards Mohandas and reggae/ska legend BiD close the party in style on Saturday.
