As if any were needed, Morro da Urca steps into the Carnival party throng to provide another excuse to get loose, this time all in the name of everyone's favourite fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras. The location couldn't be much more impressive halfway up to Sugarloaf, and coupled with the open bar the tickets were never going to be cheap, but after all that freebie partying in the street it will probably time to push the boat out a little anyway.
Three seperate arenas take care of the entertainment, with Brazilian rhythms leading the way on the main stage courtesy of Juliano Junot, Banda de Marchinhas, Ricardo Brautigam, Zeh Pretim and João Brasil. House and disco comes to the Concept Stage via The Twelves, Bernardo Campos, DJ Nepal and Wladimir Gasper, whilst the New Orleans Soul Arena is commanded by ZedoRoque. Chuck in the open bar and obligatory fancy dress and this looks like being the off-Carnival event to get onto.
