The biggest names in funk carioca get the hillside rocking once again
For anybody who wants to know about the current state of bass culture in Rio de Janeiro, the Apavoramento soundsystem have the perfect solution; Shake Your Quadra. Named after the square in the Tabajeiras community on the hillside of Copacabana that is going to be on the receiving end of the woofer's attentions, the great and the good of the DJ community will be out in force, from funk legend Grandmaster Raphael and Chicago ghettotech pioneer DJ Funk to the new breed of MCs like Sista Mo Respekt and Zuzuka Poderosa (pictured). And if that wasn't enough, the Eletrobase DJ boys are unleashing their four-deck and MPC set up for an all-out scratcherama. Dynamite.
