Firmly established as a local favourite bar and live music venue in the already crowded Lapa scene
Having started life in Flamengo where the name built up a loyal following for their blend of quality chopp, decent bar food and a love of jazz music, Mofo upped sticks and moved to Lapa to provide greater opportunity to explore their musical side. The queues of twentysomethings that greeted the opening told their own story and have stayed, thanks to the ever-changing line up of jazz, samba and MPB acts taking to the stage upstairs. Downstairs stays true to the original, with black and white photography adorning the walls and Fluminense dominating the sport on the flat screen televisions thanks to Tricolor-crazy owner Jan Vidor.
