Chef Daniel Pinho has designed the menu at this new bar-restaurant on the banks of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas to be in harmony with the jeito carioca - the Rio way of life. Opened in September 2010, the huge green wall and wooden furniture bring the outside inside, while the Brazilian-influenced tapas menu and extensive drinks and cocktails list are enough to keep adventurous palates sated. Irreverent, contemporary touches abound on the menu but the Salada São Vicente - dried beef, chunks of olive-oil and herb-fried pumpkin and spinach in caramelised balsamic - is a highlight. Leaving room for the nicely wonky desserts is a good idea too, in particular the Brownie Romeu e Julieta - a white chocolate brownie with sticky goiabada lumps and cheese ice cream.
