Tucked away up Rua Alice is a kilo restaurant that puts a refreshingly home-spun twist on the usual buffet fare
The façade says much about this cracking four-level restaurant with a beautiful mural and sign leading the way to an extensive buffet that pays attention to the details. Thus the juicy chicken blended with vegetables, refried aubergine, perfectly grilled salmon and steak are supplemented by small pots of manioc, onion tempura (a step up from the standard onion ring), sweet potato and a veritable smorgasboard of fruits to round things off. The building itself is comprised of several intertwining mezzanines with intricately cobbled together stone walls, conjuring up an unusually rustic lunch setting or the whole building can be hired for private functions in the evening or at weekends.
