No plates, no cutlery but buckets of Italian charm
There may not be much in the way of thought gone in to the design of this simple boteco-style pizza shack on the hill up to Santa Teresa, but Chico's pizzaria has other charms. Owner Francisco Allevato plied his trade in Italy for five years honing the skills that now see him churning out one of the city's better slices to the post-pub, pre-club Lapa crowds. The surrounds may not be the most inviting, but once you pull up a plastic chair and a beer and the pizza emerges on its foil tray you might as well be in Pisa. Try the Genovese; A smattering of mozzarela, tuna, a sprinkling of ginger, pumpkin and onion all over a thin, light and crispy base.
