Smart but unmistakably carioca, on the nineteenth floor of the Engineer's Club building, Prisma Café & Bistrô offers a serene alternative to the breakneck pace of some of Centro's dining options, making lunch more of a pleasure than simply a means to an end. Breakfasts are also catered for, with various arrangements of the classic ingredients like papaya, cake, cold meats and cheeses (R$6-$18), but the chef's recommendations for starter-main combinations are the popular choice, like the shrimp tart followed by grilled salmon with fruity rice and veg (R$38). Every weekday is a different lunch special too, like white fish in shrimp sauce with ratatouille and broccoli rice (R$27) or the chicken and okra stew (R$22).
