Following a critically acclaimed season at Gávea Planetarium, the Nós do Morro theatre company bring a free performance of 'Bandeira de Retalhos' to the Afroreggae stage in Vigário Geral. The play is itself a homage to Vidigal, the community from which the group evolved, and based on the events of 1977 when the government unsuccessfully tried to have the residents forcibly removed. The singer and composer behind the piece's thirteen numbers, Sérgio Ricardo, moved to Vidigal in 1975, and together with set designer Rui Cortez, conjures up the essence of the era with aplomb.
