Guide and visitors at Caminhada Litarária

This event has finished

Visitors with good Portuguese (good enough to have dabbled in Brazilian literature) will enjoy the Caminhada Literária ('literary walk'), learning about the lives of Brazilian authors and hearing snippets of their works while visiting the places in São Paulo where they lived. One such author is Monteiro Lobato, famed for his collection of childrens' books including Sítio do Picapau Amarelo (which went on to become a hit TV series). Lobato studied law at the University of São Paulo (USP), and lived in a house downtown until he passed away, both of which places are visited during the walk. The group meets on the last Friday of every month, beside the monument at Pátio do Colégio.
