Adding a gourmet appeal to the Virada Cultural culture-fest, the itinerant street food fair Chefs na Rua will be setting out its stalls once again this year (last year the food fair at the Virada made headlines for all the wrong reaons when hungry crowds pushed their way through the barriers to try and get their hands on one of the limited portions of award-winning chef Alex Atala's galinhada).
This year, Chefs na Rua will feature 30 stalls, set up along the length of Avenida São Luis, with the line-up of chefs curated by Jefferson Rueda, of the excellent Attimo restaurant. Don't expect to find Atala running a stall this year, but you can expect to try food from some of the city's best-connected chefs, including Raphael Despirite from Marcel, Hugo Delgado from Obá, Dagoberto Torres from Suri, Janaína Rueda from Bar da Dona Onça, Benny Goldenberg from Mangiare, Daniela França Pinto from Marcelino Pan y Vino, Mexican chef Lourdes Hernandez, not to mention Rueda himself, and a sweet finish by Juliana Motter, from Maria Brigadeiro.
All dishes are priced between R$5-$15.
Chefs na Rua runs the length of Avenida São Luis starting at Praça da República. Read more on Facebook.com
