Certainly no city jaunt, Hopi Hari makes your day trip worthwhile. Built in 1999 and located 72km (44 miles) outside of São Paulo, the theme park offers slightly scaled-down thrill rides appropriate for the younger set; the wooden rollercoaster Montezum is perfect for adults. Most notable is the park’s use of its own language ‘Hopês’, which is translated into Portuguese around the park, and is lots of fun for locals. For the rest of us there’s a Hopês-Portuguese dictionary sold on site, but good luck translating for your curious little ones.
