Urban culture and sustainability-related events at this cool downtown venue
Located on a decadent street in downtown São Paulo, Matilha Cultural is a shining point of light in terms of culture and ecologically-minded shows and events, and manages to be serious-minded without ever being boring.
With exhibitions featuring the likes of elaborately painted skateboards, photographs from Egypt during 2011's Arab Spring and cross-cultural video mash-ups, this artsy space attracts an edgy and beautiful alternative crowd. It has an excellent mini-cinema upstairs where it regularly shows shorts and feature films, documentaries and film cycles.
