Sérvulo Esmeraldo/Press Image
'Sem título' by Sérvulo Esmeraldo
This event has finished
According to the artist Sérvulo Esmeraldo, art does indeed have a formula: it’s a triangle. Metallic and geometric sculptures await you at his new exhibition at Galeria Raquel Arnaud, ‘Simples como o triângulo’ (‘As simple as a triangle’), which runs until 18 August. Esmeraldo’s first phase of work (in the 1950s and '60s) largely consisted of prints inspired by Brazilian folk art from the North East, somewhat similar to those of Oswaldo Goeldi. Later, after studying in Paris, Esmeraldo became fascinated with the Bauhaus movement, and by the late 1970s, he had returned to Brazil to share his visions.
