One of Isaac Julien's films, at SESC Pompeia
This event has finished
For this, a first solo exhibition in South America by the British filmmaker and artist Isaac Julien, SESC Pompeia hosts a schedule of his award-winning films dating back to 1989, including Ten Thousand Waves (2010), Fantôme Créole (2005) True North (2004) and Afrique Fantôme (2005), among others. His vibrant works focus on questions of our post-colonial world, and – within that paradigm – discuss various themes, such as the contradiction of mixed, hybrid cultures, the effects of immigration, conceptions of beauty, ethnicity and gender.
