Uniting the work of 16 young artists, the 'Mostra Amarello' is a group exhibition curated by, and hosted at the office of, São Paulo design-lifestyle-art magazine Amarello. Some of the artists whose works are on display have been featured in the quarterly magazine, such as the black-and-white photo montages by Marcelo Zocchio in his 'Repaisagem' series. Zocchio creates subtle but revealing juxtapositions in his images, in which he blends old photographs of São Paulo, taken at the turn of the 20th century, with photographs of precisely the same cityscapes, captured in the present.
Don't miss the photographs on display by budding New York photographer Alexandra Henry, which depict an alternative view to standard postcard images of Rio de Janeiro. These works form part of Henry's ongoing project to document urban landscapes as a layering of architecture, nature, and street-art intervention.
