A well-curated line-up of art adorns this warehouse space
The creative scene around Barra Funda and Santa Cecília is on the up, with Galeria Transversal just the latest art gallery to set up camp in the area. The gallery, which opened its doors in April 2011, has retained many of the art deco features of the original building, with white painted beams criss-crossing the ceiling of the spacious upstairs exhibition space. The two-storey-high boot that initially covered the facade of the building – created by graffiti artist Treco – has since been replaced by further creative licks of paint.
