A hot night of danceable Latin beats like salsa, rumba, mambo and bolero comes by way of the Chilean artist Pedro La Colina and Sexteto Cañaveral, who pay tribute to classic Cuban performers like Benny Moré, Willy Chirino and Issac Delgado.
Since moving to Brazil two decades ago, La Colina has incorporated the use of samba, and therefore most popular Brazilian rhythms tend make an appearance in his shows. So don’t be surprised if you hear a track by Cartola or Djavan that’s been given a cumbia or mambo touch – the Chilean often takes chances with traditional arrangments.
