Improvising piano titan Keith Jarrett is coming to Brazil for his third visit, to play the Sala São Paulo as part of the Jazz All Nights 2012 series of gigs, which last year brought Grammy Award-winning US bassist and singer soul diva Esperanza Spalding to town. Jarrett will perform music from his new – and best, or so he says – album, Rio, the fruits of a concert in Rio de Janeiro, alongside fellow musicians, bass player Gary Peacock and drummer Jack DeJohnette.
At 66 years of age, he is among the world's most respected pianists, known for improvising and mixing jazz with classical music, blues and gospel, to create an unmistakable sound. Jarrett's talent, teamed with the acoustics of the Sala São Paulo, should make for a remarkable evening of music.
