You might not have heard of the Brazilian singer and song writer Sérgio Sampaio – he was never one of the most prestigious artists working in the genre of MPB, and in fact, he's known as one of the 'malditos da Música Popular Brasileira' – the cursed ones of MPB. Also, Sampaio’s work did not interest the major labels of his time, which justifies the 'cursed' label.
On the year of the 40th anniversary of his song Eu Quero é Botar Meu Bloco na Rua (I want to get my block to the streets), the musicians Gustavo Galo, Juliano Gauche and Tatá Aeroplano, backed by a band, will celebrate the album that has the same name as the birthday song at 'Uma Homenagem a Sérgio Sampaio' – a homage to Sérgio Sampaio. The trio, plus band, will be ripping through the entire track laying all of its tracks in a concert at SESC Vila Mariana. It might be a great opportunity for you to get to know Sérgio Sampaio and his songs, listening to his samba, choro, rock and blues.
