The hugely influential jazz-funk pianist and all-round musical force of nature Herbie Hancock sets down in São Paulo in August to wow the masses with his impeccable back catalogue of cult hits. Whether it was being picked out personally by Miles Davis to join his merry band, crossing over with the swinging single 'Watermelon Man' and sultry 'I Thought It Was You' or moulding the future of hip hop with 'Rockit', Hancock is a man whose history and talent demands respect. Winning the 2008 Grammy for album of the year with River: The Joni Years proves that he still has a rare and uncanny gift, so expect something of a musical education from one of the godfathers.
