His abusive lifestyle has become common slang among youngsters (‘getting crazier than Lobão’), and was undoubtedly helped by his autobiography 50 Anos a Mil, written with journalist Claudio Tognolli, as his self-destructive behaviour was documented in its over-500 pages. Lobão recounts his adventures in Rio de Janeiro – where his bohemian days reached their peak in the 1980s Rock-BR scene, together with friends like Júlio Barroso, Ezequiel Neves and Cazuza. However, Lobão has recently chosen São Paulo as his hometown: he even wrote a song, ‘Song for Sampa’, to pay an homage to his new safe haven. On tour with his new show Elétrico, the carioca-turned-paulistano plays hit after hit from his career. Listen for songs like ‘Me Chama’, ‘Rádio Blá’ and ‘Vida Bandida’.
