Brand new club night Drama is set to be every bit as exotic as the name suggests, shaking things up every Thursday night at Alberta #3. Put together by the journalist Eduardo Beu along with Guilherme Werneck working the turntables, the night’s theme is ‘a música romântica embebida em crônicas’ (‘a short story based on a romantic melody’), which aims to put everyone in an amorous mood with jazz from the ’50s, jovem guarda tracks from the ’60s, and some early moments of glam and classic pop music.
The opening night of Drama takes place on 12 July and kicks off with a live performance by Trovadores do Miocárdio, a romantically-geared group formed by Xico Sá, Fausto Fawcett and Karine Carvalho, who play songs based on Brazilian romantic music from the 1960s and 1970s.
