After almost five years on the road, the DJ collective of Veneno Soundsystem – veneno means poison in Portuguese – continue to surprise the public with their performances. Their musical selections are varied and eclectic: Brazilian music, global grooves, soul, funk, disco, and Latin and African rhythms.
The group formed by the DJs Maurício Fleury, Peba Tropikal and Ronaldo Evangelista also have secured a permanent home: they spin every two weeks in Studio SP Vila Madalena. Loyal to vinyl, the collective happily suffers the weight and inconvenience of bring along physical source material, and play using a guaranteed 100% phonograph record-based collection; you'll find no laptops running the show here. The atmosphere promises to be electric with a steady stream of hits from the past and future classics. This particular veneno acts as a medicine against boredom.
