The Bar do Netão has the classic elements of a boteco: bottled beer and an unpretentious look, while out front, customers drink and talk. But surprisingly, after passing the space dedicated to the bar and going down two steps, you find yourself in the middle of a packed dancefloor. With a boom in the clientele, Netão's owner invested in a new soundsystem and began inviting DJs to spin – it's where the Voodoohop party got started. Entrance is for free, which is great news as it's one of the main hot spots on Baixo Augusta. Predictably, it gets crowded on weekends, but that's all for the better, as it frees up everyone to party hard without standing out.
