Brazilian regional food with a magic twist
Fans of Brazilian high gastronomy will not be disappointed by this rare example of a famous chef making truly traditional dishes. Mara Salles was inspired by her roots in Pernambuco (a state on the north-east coast) to work mostly with local ingredients and to highlight regional dishes. Salles’s culinary wizardry is best sampled in the pato no tucupi (duck and manioc stew). For dessert, try the cupuaçu ice cream – a mind-blowingly tangy Amazonian fruit. If the variety on the menu makes choosing too difficult, you can opt for the delectable tasting menu for around R$110.
