After a series of bouts with tendinitis in his knee sidelined him for the second half of the 2012 season, 11-time Grand Slam champion and former World no. 1 Rafael Nadal makes his long-awaited return to the ATP tour at the Brasil Open, which takes place from 9-17 February.
The Spaniard hasn’t played an ATP World Tour event in South America since 2005, but will surely feel at home on the tournament’s indoor courts – he’s won seven of his Grand Slams on the French Open’s clay surface. Spain's Nicolas Almagro, ranked 11 in the world, and the Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci, ranked at 33rd, have confirmed as well.
