A year since the theatre company took up residence in its new location in the heart of one of the city's seediest – and most historic – spots, close to Luz station, Pessoal do Faroeste seems to have gone into overdrive, presenting a programme (Projeto Boca Livre) packed with music, films, debates, speeches and dramatic readings – and, of course, theatre.
The programme runs from 28 November 2012 to 10 February 2013 and includes three plays under the header 'Faroeste Mostra Quase Tudo' ('Faroeste shows almost everything'), in a wonderful opportunity to get to know the work of this exciting company, not to mention its new home, 'Luz do Faroeste', on Rua do Triunfo.
The three plays in question, which run for between 55 and 75 minutes, are Cine Camaleão - A Boca do Lixo (9.30pm Fri-Sat; 7.30pm Sun), Meio Dia do Fim (9.30pm Wed), and their newest production, Borboleta Azul (9.30pm Thu). Admission is R$40, but those arriving an hour before showtime may wait to see the play first, and then decide how much they'd like to pay.
Note: these performances are entirely in Portuguese.
